Often immunoassay specificity is hampered by heterophilic anti-species antibodies (rheumatoid factor like activity) that may cause false positive results. Such activities can be eliminated by pre-absorption of diluted serum samples with immobilized antibodies. The different binders offered by Seramun effectively remove anti-species activities of heterophilic antibodies by pre-absorption in 1 ml of a 1:10 diluted serum sample in a tube with the respective binder for 30 min.
